And if you have vomiting, you may lose more fluids than usual. If you become dehydrated while taking Rybelsus, this can increase your risk of kidney problems, such as kidney failure. Start and continue your patients on RYBELSUS® (semaglutide)

Your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medication, exercise program, or diet. Semaglutide is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. In placebo-controlled trials cholelithiasis was reported in 1% of patients treated with RYBELSUS®7 mg.

However, if the side effects last longer than that, bother you, or become severe, be sure to talk with your doctor or pharmacist. An interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of the medications; however, sometimes it does. Speak to your doctor about how drug interactions should be managed.

Rybelsus and pregnancy

If you’re sexually active and you or your partner can become pregnant, talk with your doctor about your birth control needs while you’re taking Rybelsus. It’s important to take Rybelsus at least 30 minutes before having any food or drink (aside from up to 4 ounces of water). The actual price you’ll pay for either drug depends on your rybelsus savings card insurance plan, your location, and the pharmacy you use. If you’re taking 1-mg injections of Ozempic once a week, keep in mind that there’s no equal dose of Rybelsus. Hypersensitivity.Serious hypersensitivity reactions (for example, anaphylaxis, angioedema) have been reported in patients treated with RYBELSUS®. If hypersensitive reactions occur, discontinue use of RYBELSUS®, treat promptly per standard of care, and monitor until signs and symptoms resolve. Use caution in a patient with a history of angioedema or anaphylaxis with another GLP-1 receptor agonist. RYBELSUS® is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC and in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
